Rashad Selim is a researcher of history and indigenous culture with particular interest in Ecology, Archaeology and the History of Technology, and has been a student of several traditional art practices relating to music, dance and craft.

He is an associate of the International Network for Contemporary Iraqi Artists and a member of the Iraqi Artists Society.
